Cyrus E. Dallin Art Museum
Visit Arlington's art museum. At the Cyrus E. Dallin Art Museum you will discover the work of the celebrated American sculptor, Cyrus E. Dallin (1861-1944). Known for some of America's most iconic sculptures, including The Appeal to the Great Spirit and Paul Revere, his art brings beauty and meaning to public spaces in many of our nation’s greatest cities. Dallin's art was influenced by American history, classical mythology, and the Native American people he knew and admired. In 1900, Dallin moved to Arlington, where he lived for the rest of his life. Arlington is the proud home of many of his sculptures. The museum is located in the historic Jefferson Cutter House in Arlington Center in Whittemore Park at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Mystic Street.

Sorry. The link to the 1000 Great Places didn't work because it included my punctuation in the link. Try this: http://www.massvacation.com/1000/index2.php

Thanks to Diana Dixon for her article, "Arlington's Artistic and Cultural Heritage" (http://www.arlingtoncommunitynetwork.org/town_news/show.html?town_new_id=2049) highlighting Dallin's Menotomy Indian Hunter among the town's other fine artistic and cultural resources. I would like to encourage everyone to visit the museum, at 611 Mass Ave at the corner of Mystic St, which was just named one of Massachusetts' 1000 Great Places, (http://www.massvacation.com/1000/index2.php).

Visit the museum and explore four galleries of sculptures and paintings by Dallin, including Paul Revere, Appeal to the Great Spirit, The Scout, and Angel Moroni. Learn about this great artist who called Arlington home for over 40 years. http://www.dallin.org.
