Dibblers and Dabblers last Monday - and on August 3rd 06/03/09 by
So, I am still blown away by all the great talent that showed up on Monday night to our first coffee-house style event. Kicked off by Arlington's own Hugh Hanley http://www.hughhanley.com/ and Catherine Joyce http://www.myspace.com/catherinemjoyce , open mic performances followed by Liz Buchanan, Liza Halley, David Cumbala, Aura Valdes, and Ben Thomas. Wow, what a great mix of folksy, Irish, spiritual music... poems, songs...

When I counted, about 32 people packed Jam N Java to listen and share their music. What a great crowd.

The evening was so much fun, many of you thought it would be a great idea to do another one! So, here it is, officially: Mark your calendars for August 3rd, 6.30pm, once again at Jam N Java.

See you then!

Alex

PS: Coach Liz Blu http://www.famboogle.com/arlington/coach-liz-blu will provide an open session on July 7th. More info to follow.

Last month was great fun. The singing was delightful. There was a
wonderful poet too.

Our program next month will be totally different. We are three coach and
counselors from Arlington, who are interested in presenting a program about
managing during tough times

I am Liz Blumenthal ,CoachLizBlu. I coach women who are looking to create
financial clarity and independence. I am delighted to be joined by Stuart
Jester, a men's counselor who specializes in stress management and Linda
Varone, RN, MA, CFS, from Nurturing Spaces. Linda teaches us how to manage
the space around us in a way that supports our wellbeing. We will be
talking about taking the very best care of yourselves in a way that supports
creating comfort and success amidst the constant pulls of today's economic
and personal challenges.

We are very grateful to Alex for this opportunity through Famboogle.

I was able to stop by for just a bit but it was great fun for the short time I was there. It's nice that people in the community are getting together for events like this. I'm glad Coach Liz is providing an open session in July. I'm looking forward to hearing more about it.

Been meaning to post for a while. The event was a lot of fun, and the
level of talent and musicianship was way up there. Plus, made some
worthwhile connections within the community. In a nutshell, this event
was / is what famboogle is all about--connecting with people, events,
and businesses within Arlington and discussing meaningful topics /
issues / events, etc. related to the town (online, yes, but in person, a
plus!) --Leland

WOW! I'm sorry I missed this. This looks and sounds like it was an awesome time. Maybe I can try to make the next one in August. :)

It's great that the first Mondays of the past few months have been arranged to be Famboogle get-togethers. The real estate meeting in May brought lots of great conversation. I wasn't at the meeting but I've read the comments that were made here. It's a good idea and fun to mix it up a bit each month so people continue to show interest in attending. I'll be out of town the week after July 4th but the Coach Liz session sounds like it will be helpful to many.

I wasn't able to make it, but a friend of mine went and said she had a blast. Why do we have to wait so long for another one? Is it possible this could turn into a once a month engagement?
