Camera Repair 07/10/09 by
I don't even know if this can be done. I have a nice Canon digistal SLR camera, and I broke the LCD screen. Do I have to replace the entire camera, or can I get it repaired-in which case does anyone know of a place in town that would do it?

You should also be able to use it still through the eye piece viewer. Sorry, don't know the name but even though the screen is gone you should be able to use it like an old style camera.

Is Sanford Camera still on Mass. Ave? They still have this web site: http://www.sanfordcamerarepair.com/

I guess I will start with Canon then. I trust them, because I trust their cameras and I really do like this camera. It wasn't cheap, so I'd rather not have to replace it.

Yes, the LCD screen can possibly be repaired. I would also recommend checking with Canon first to see how much they will charge even if the camera is out of warranty. I would then suggest checking prices with a couple of other companies such as; http://www.thefotogeeks.com/lcd_repair.htm to compare prices.

I wish I had thought of that solution. We had the same problem with our camera and just replaced it. Of course, ours was over a year old; so the warranty probably wasn't still good.

I'm not sure that there is anyone in town that does this, but is the camera under warranty? If so I would simply return it to the manufacturer and see if they will do it.
